THodoros Karzis
Theodoros Karzis, a historian, journalist, and General Secretary of the Greece-China Friendship Association for the past 12 years, has dedicated this period to an in-depth, systematic study of the long historical and cultural journey of the Chinese people. His study has resulted in "The History and Culture of China," a comprehensive treatment of a significant subject that now enriches Greek literature. Theodoros Karzis's previous works, or at least most of them, have received enthusiastic reviews and honorary distinctions: the 5-volume "History of Women," awarded by the Academy of Athens; "The Homelands of the Greeks," honored with the Grand Scroll of the Estia of Nea Smyrni and the Award of the Smyrna Union; "Correct Greek" and "The Epic of Language," awarded by the Botsis Foundation. Both in reviews and in the award recommendations, it is emphasized that the author's texts are reliable for specialists and engaging for the broader reading public. In the field of journalism, Theodoros Karzis has been a political columnist, News Director of Public Television, General News Director of the Athens News Agency (ANA), and a member of the Board of Directors of ERT and the National Radio and Television Council (NCRTV). As Director of Educational Television and International Relations at ERT, he represented Greece for years in the international organizations Universite Radiophonique et Televisuelle Internationale (URTI, Paris) and Comite Europeen de Television Scolaire (CETS, Brussels). He served as President and later Honorary President of the Centre Mediterraneen de la Communication Audiovisuelle (CMCA, Paris-Marseille).
