CHara Mpakonikola - Georgopoulou

Chará Bakonikola was born in Volos in 1948. She holds a degree in Greek Philology from the University of Athens (1971) and a degree in French Philology from the University of Athens (1974). She earned a state doctoral degree (Doctorat d'État des Lettres et Sciences Humaines) from the Sorbonne University (Université de Sorbonne, Paris IV) in 1985. From 1975 to 1991, she served as an assistant, then as a lecturer and assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. Since 1992 (to the present), she has been a full professor in the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Athens. She teaches philosophy of theater, drama theory, theater aesthetics, ancient dramaturgy, and dramatic analysis.
