Dr. Nicky Hayes is a member of the British Psychological Society and an honorary member of the Association for the Teaching of Psychology. She has been involved in developing methods for teaching and examining psychology since 1980. In 1997, she was awarded the British Psychological Society Award for her valuable contribution to the teaching of psychology. She is renowned for making psychology accessible to the general public. She has published sixteen psychology books, several of which are significant teaching manuals. Nicky Hayes holds a degree and a doctorate in psychology and has specialized in the study of social expressions and social identity within various organizations. She continues to conduct research in these areas. She also holds a PGCE and a master's degree in education, specializing in curriculum studies and science education. Currently, she is a visiting professor in the Department of Psychology at the School of Humanities, University of Surrey, UK.
