Eleni Skavdi

Eleni Skavdi is a journalist. She was born in 1952 in Alexandroupoli. She studied at the Economics Department of the Law School at the University of Athens and participated in several publishing ventures during the 1970s and 1980s while living in Athens. She was a member of the Editorial Board of Thourios, collaborated with the magazine "Kapa" and the newspaper "Epochi". She was part of the editorial team of the newspaper Iris, published in Agia Paraskevi, Attica, and of the corresponding publication titled 'Entelecheia' in Thebes. In the 1990s, she returned to Thrace, where she worked for five years as the Editorial Director of the daily newspaper "Paratiritis tis Thrakis" published in Komotini. She also produced journalistic programs for ERA Komotini and served as a correspondent for the Athens News Agency. During the same period, she was a member of the Editorial Board of the literary magazine Exopolis, published in Alexandroupoli. Her short stories have been published in various literary magazines, including "The Red Shoes at the Door Knocker of Volos" (1994), "The Logs" (1994), "Mr. Ro" (1995), "That City", an excerpt from the novella (1996), and "With Shoulder Pads Like Angel Wings..." (1996) in Exopolis magazine. She edited four books by Alexandroupoli author Thanasis A. Apostolidis, titled "Perhaps Something Will Remain from These... for History" (1994), "Winged Words" (1995), "Signs of Life" (1995), and "Angel Ch. Poimenidis-Prologue" (1997). Additionally, she co-edited with Jenny Katsari-Vafeiadis two more books by the same author, titled "St. Lefteris of Alexandroupoli" (1996) and "I Remember... I Remembered... They Reminded Me" (1997). In Amaliada, where she has lived since 1997, she published the weekly newspaper "Elefthero Vima tis Ilias" from 1998 to 2005. In 2011, she wrote 12 texts for the 2011 Calendar - The Beautiful Days. 12 texts + 25 photographs for Alexandroupoli, published by "Paratiritis tis Thrakis" with photographs by Platon-Orestis Serafeimidis. She is married to psychiatrist Panagiotis Christopoulos, and they have a daughter, Natasha.
