Zoi Valasi

Zoe Valasi (née Tzima, Athens 1945) is an author and critic, holding a doctorate from the Sorbonne University-Paris IV. Since 1976, she has published more than fifty books, primarily for children, and has collaborated with numerous newspapers and magazines, as well as Radio and Television, both on scientific topics and fictional works. She has also worked with various educational and research European centers on modern Greek literature and language. Valasi has been invited to represent Greek children's literature at international conferences and book-related meetings. She has been honored with Greek and international awards (1983, 1987, 2000, 2014), and her works have been translated and published abroad. She established a regular children's book review column in the newspaper Rizospastis (1975-1987) and taught the course "Introduction to the Study of Literature and Children's Books" in higher education for twenty years.
