Nikos A. Kavvadias

Nikos A. Kavvadias (1938-2012) was born in Corfu. He studied medicine in Thessaloniki, attended the Higher War School, and served as a military doctor in various military units, hospitals, and the Army's Biological Research Center until 1984. He entered the literary world in 1985, publishing his short stories in magazines such as "Anakyklisi," "Chartis," and the literary magazine "Porfyras" of Corfu, with which he was closely associated. He wrote short stories, novellas, novels, essays, book reviews, and studies, including works on the writer Konstantinos Theotokis. He published the novels "Daphne" (1990), "Fear and Hope" (1991), "Flight into the White" (1993), "Triestina" (2003), and "I Will Call You" (2004). He also released the short story collection "The Spirit in the Planting" (1998) and the novellas "The First Day" (1995) and "The Sudden" (1996). He passed away on November 2, 2012, in Athens, at the age of 74.
