Zisis Sarikas

Zisis Sarikas was born in 1953 in Thessaloniki. He studied Modern Greek Philology and Philosophy at the School of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is an author, translator, and editor. He has written the books: "Myths of Technology," Ekdotiki Thessalonikis, 1987; "Crumbs: Short Prose," Nisides, 1998; Panoptikon, 2008; "The Vision of the Overman: An Interpretation of Friedrich Nietzsche's 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra,'" Nisides, 2003; Vanias, 2008; Panoptikon, 2014; "Far from the World," Panoptikon, 2008; "Human Shadows," Panoptikon, 2012; "Sunday Off," Estia, 2014. He has translated the complete philosophical works of Friedrich Nietzsche into Greek, a project that spanned twenty years, as well as works by Diderot, Bakunin, Stirner, Freud, Foucault, Baudrillard, Castoriadis, Koyré, and thinkers of the Frankfurt School. He served as the director of the series of ancient Greek authors at Exandas Publications, as well as the short-lived publishing house of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In November 2016, he was honored by the Hellenic Authors' Society with the "Dido Sotiriou" award for his entire body of work.
