
Nikos Vlantis
Nikos Vlantis was born in 1973 in Alexandroupoli (originally named Nikos Barbopoulos). He studied civil engineering and completed his Ph.D. at the National Technical University of Athens, focusing on urban planning. He has published the novel "Alcibiades the Prisoner" (Apopeira, 2000), the crime, sarcastic thriller "www.tospitimas.gr" (Periplous, 2002), the satirical narrative "I Want to Be Alone for a While to Think" (Periplous, 2003), and the novels "Greek Psycho, the Ultimate Neo-Hellenic Psychosis" (Oxy, 2004), "The Nonexistence You Deserve" (Oxy, 2004), "Bartleby the Computer Guy: A Story from Silicon Street" (Apopeira, 2005), "Writersland: The Island of Writers" (Kedros, 2006), and "Lethe" (Kedros, 2008). Together with Pavlos Baltas, he published a book on urban representations and mythology: "Next Stop: Lost Highways, a Journey through the Cosmogenesis of the European and American Metropolis" (Futura, 2004). A contributor to the free book magazine "Index," he left in 2006 to co-found, with Maria Lekaki-Vlanti, the publishing house "Magic Box." Five years later (2011), he stepped away from the Greek publishing scene, entrusting "Magic Box" to Spyros Paloukis of "Fata Morgana" publications, to focus, along with Maria Vlanti, on www.cosmowave.in.
