
Victor Davis Hanson
Victor Davis Hanson has thoroughly analyzed various aspects of warfare in classical antiquity in his works "The Western Way of War," "The Other Greeks," and "The Wars of the Ancient Greeks." He has also published military history books such as "The Soul of Battle" and "Ripples of Battle," as well as two essay collections that achieved significant commercial success: "An Autumn of War" and "Between War and Peace." He is an emeritus professor of classics at California State University. He has served as a member of the National Endowment for the Humanities, a member of the Center of Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, a member of the Onassis Foundation in Greece, and a visiting professor of military history at the U.S. Naval Academy. He has been honored with the Brendel Memorial Award for journalism. He lives and works with his wife and their three children in Selma, California, where he was born in 1953. Recently, Hanson became a senior fellow in classics and military history at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
