THanasis Sfikas

Thanasis D. Sfikas was born in Athens in 1963. He taught European history at the University of Central Lancashire in the UK and modern Greek history at the University of Ioannina. He is currently an associate professor of history at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has published the books "The British Labour Government and the Greek Civil War, 1945-1949: The Imperialism of Non-Intervention" (Keele: Keele University Press, 1994; Greek edition, "Οι Άγγλοι Εργατικοί και ο Εμφύλιος Πόλεμος στην Ελλάδα: Ο Ιμπεριαλισμός της Μη Επέμβασης", Athens, Filistor, 1997); "Greece and the Spanish Civil War: Ideology, Economy, Diplomacy" (Athens: Stachi, 2000); "War and Peace in the Strategy of the KKE 1945-1949" (Athens: Filistor, 2001); and co-edited with Christofer Williams: "Ethnicity and Nationalism in the CIS and the Baltic States" (Aldershot: Ashgate, 1999) and "Ethnicity and Nationalism in Eastern Europe and the Balkans" (Aldershot: Ashgate, 1999).
