Eytychia Kourkoutidou - Nikolaidou

Honorary Curator of Antiquities. She served from 1965 in the Ephorates of Byzantine Antiquities of Thessaly, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and Central and Western Macedonia. During her tenure at the Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities in Thessaloniki, she systematically worked on the restoration of Byzantine monuments and the preservation of mosaics following the 1978 earthquakes. After the establishment of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, she took on its directorship and was involved in the museological study and organization of its exhibitions. Simultaneously, she assumed the directorship of the European Centre for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Monuments.
