Stathis Gourgouris

Stathis Gourgouris was born in 1958 in Los Angeles and grew up in Athens. He studied comparative literature and Modern Greek at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1985, he published the poetry collection "Myrtle Trenches" in English. He teaches comparative literature at Columbia University. He is the author of the books "Does Literature Think?", Nefeli, 2005, and "Dream Nation: Enlightenment and the Institution of Modern Greece", Kritiki, 2007.
