
Pascal Bruckner
With a background in philosophy (having completed his doctorate under Roland Barthes), he alternates between writing novels and essays, contributes to "Le Nouvel Observateur," holds a doctorate in philosophy from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, and teaches as a visiting professor at universities in the United States. Pascal Bruckner is a cosmopolitan by nature and position. He was born in 1948 in Paris. He lived for six years in Austria, spent part of his adolescence in Lyon, and at the age of sixteen, he settled permanently in the French capital. He participated in the upheaval of May '68, declaring that "At that time, we were all communists." He has two children, a son and a daughter.
