Marigo Alexopoulou

Marigo Alexopoulou was born in Athens in 1976. She studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Athens and graduated in 1998. She continued her studies in the postgraduate program of the Department of Classics at the University of Glasgow, where she completed her dissertation (Ph.D). Her dissertation and monograph focused on "Nostos in Ancient Greek Tragedy" (title: The Theme of Return in Ancient Greek Literature: The Nostos of Epic Heroes), published by the English publishing house Edwin Mellen Press (www.mellenpress.com). She has taught ancient Greek theater at the University of the Peloponnese and the Hellenic Open University. She works as a philologist at the Moraitis School. Her poems have been published in literary magazines such as Dekata, I Lexi, Poiisi, and Poietiki, in the newspaper Avgi, as well as in online literary reviews like Poema, Poeticanet, and diastixo.gr. Her poems have been included in many Greek anthologies and translated into English, French, Italian, and Danish. She has created the website https://www.facebook.com/poetrycafe.marathi/.
