Dimitris Alexiou

Dimitris Alexiou was born in Alepochori, Laconia, in 1949. Since 1963, he has been living and working in Athens. He studied film directing. His writings have been published in newspapers such as "Ta Nea," "To Vima," and "Eleftherotypia," as well as in magazines like "To Dentro," "I Lexi," "Periplous," "Grafi," "Odos Panos," "Neo-epipedo," "Apopira," "Politistiki," "Eli-trochos," "Mandragoras," "Elleboros," "Giati," "Emvolimon," "Nea Poreia," among others. He has translated Lucian's "Dialogues of the Dead." His poems have been included in anthologies in Greece and abroad. Invited by the University of Illinois in the USA in April 1983, he delivered a talk on "Contemporary Greek Poetry." He is a member of the Society of Authors.
