Giorgos Nikolaou
George Nikolaou attended the Marasleio Pedagogical Academy, where he obtained his teaching degree in 1983. He continued his studies at the Department of Educational Sciences at Lumiere University Lyon 2, where he completed his undergraduate studies (Maitrise, 1986) and his postgraduate diploma (DEA, 1988). He was awarded a doctorate from the Department of Education at the University of Athens in 1999. His dissertation focused on the role of Greek educators in the school integration of repatriated and foreign students. He has worked in primary education in Greece and France, taught at the Pedagogical Academy of Florina (1986-87), at the University Institute of Technology (IUT B') of Lyon 1 University (1988-89), and at the Marasleio School of Primary Education, where he was responsible for the course "Intercultural Education." He served as a tenure-track Advisor for Intercultural Education at the Pedagogical Institute and, since 2001, has been a Lecturer at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Ioannina. He also teaches in the Postgraduate Program of the Department of Primary Education at the University of Athens. He is the author of the book "Integration and Education of Foreign Students in Primary School" (Ellinika Grammata, 2000).
