James Hawes

James Hawes was born in 1960. He studied German at Hertford College and the University of Central London. He has taught at the universities of Maynooth, Sheffield, and Swansea. He is the author of six novels, including the largely prophetic book on Brexit, "Speak for England" (2005), and "Englanders and Huns: The Culture Clash which Led to the First World War" (2015). He leads the postgraduate creative writing seminar at Brookes University in Oxford.
