
Antonis Papatheodoulou
Antonis Papatheodoulou was born in 1977 in Piraeus. He studied 3D Animation at the Parsers School in Athens and was initiated into the secrets of clay animation and traditional techniques at the 9zeros School in Barcelona. He left his Geology studies at the University of Athens to pursue Spanish Philology at the Open University. Since 1999, he has been writing, translating, and adapting stories, songs, and scripts for children. His books have been honored with awards and distinctions both in Greece and abroad. His song "Polyvia, a Slipper That Detests Violence" won an award in 2004 at the children's song competition "Arsi Fonom" by the Orchestra of Colors, and his books "The Parafairytale" and "The Wizard of Ozone" were shortlisted for the Diavazo magazine awards and the State Children's Book Awards in 2006, respectively. He is a member of the Circle of the Greek Children's Book and has collaborated in organizing events and activities for children's books with publishers, schools, libraries, and bookstores across Greece, as well as with the magazine "Kid's Fun," the Rhodes Center of Writers and Translators, the Herakleidon Museum, and the Hellenic Children's Museum. In February 2008, he participated with 13 other Greek children's book authors and illustrators in the team that prepared the major tribute to author H.P. Lagavulin in Athens.
