Kostas Gavroglou

Kostas Gavroglu is a Professor of History of Science in the Department of Methodology, History, and Theory of Science at the University of Athens. He has taught physics and history of science at the National Technical University of Athens. As a visiting professor, he has taught at Boston University, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Cambridge, and Istanbul Technical University. His research interests focus on the history of physics and chemistry from the early 19th to the mid-20th century. He is a member of the editorial boards of various international journals on the history of science, as well as the Greek journal "Neusis." His major books include "Methodological Aspects in the Development of Low Temperature Physics 1881-1957: Concepts out of Context(s)" (co-authored with Giorgos Goudaroulis, published in 1990 by Kluwer Academic Publishers), "Fritz London, A Scientific Biography" (published in 1996 by Cambridge University Press), and "The Past of Sciences as History" (published by Crete University Press, 2004). He is the president of the Historical Archive of the University of Athens.
