Konstantinos M. Minas

Konstantinos Minas was born in Olympos, Karpathos, in 1937. He taught for nine years in secondary education and over sixteen years as a lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor of Linguistics at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina. Since 1989, he has been an emeritus professor of Modern Greek Language and its teaching at the Department of Primary Education at the University of the Aegean. At both the University of Ioannina and the University of the Aegean, he held various administrative positions: department director, department chair, dean, and senate member. He has made significant contributions, among other things, to the study of Modern Greek dialects, particularly the Dodecanese dialects. One of his books was awarded and published by the Academy of Athens. He is a member of scientific societies and has served as president of the "Society of Modern Greek Dialectology," the "House of Letters and Arts of the Dodecanese," and the "Center for Karpathian Studies of Rhodes."
