CHrysa Spyropoulou

Chrysa Spyropoulou was born in Serres in 1957. She studied Classical and English Philology and works in secondary education. She is involved in book criticism and collaborates with newspapers and literary magazines. Her books include: "The Ancient Greek World in the Poetry of Zoe Karelli," a study, A.S.E., Thessaloniki 1988; "Readings," essays, Prospero, Athens 1992; "Reflections," short stories, Prospero, Athens 1994; "Fog on the Lake," a crime novel, Odos Panos, Athens 1998; "Masks in the Shadow," a psychological thriller, Ankyra 2000; "An Innocent Game," a crime novel, Ankyra 2004; participation in a collective volume with texts on the poetry of Orestis Alexakis, "Listener of Horizons," Gavriilidis 2004; "Without Traces," a crime novel, Kedros 2006; "The Secret of the Lake," a crime novel for teenagers, Kedros 2008; "Eco-Crimes," editor, contributor, short stories, Kedros 2008; "The Mystery of Aegina," a crime novel for teenagers, Kedros 2010; "The Absence of Love," editor, contributor, short stories, Modern Times 2011. She wrote the introduction to the short story collection by Deniz Kavoktsoglou, "Everyday Political Stories," translated by Angeliki Melliou, Iason Books 2011. Translations: "Aloe," Katherine Mansfield, novella, Odos Panos, Athens 1993; "Carol," Patricia Highsmith, novel, Prospero, Athens 1993; "Two Siblings of Different Gender," (Chinese narrative, translated from English), Odos Panos, Athens 1995. She is a member of the judging panel for the Athens Prize for Literature (for Greek novels) of the magazine (De)kata.
