Tariq Ali

Tariq Ali is an author and filmmaker. He has written more than twenty-four books on topics ranging from world history to politics, as well as plays and scripts for theater and film. This is his seventh novel. In 2010, he was awarded the Granadillo Prize by the Granada City Culture Festival for his novels in the Islam Quintet. All of his novels have been translated into numerous languages. He is an editor of the "New Left Review" and resides in London. His novels "In the Shadow of the Pomegranate Tree," "The Stone Woman," and "A Sultan in Palermo," as well as his political essays "The Clash of Fundamentalisms: Crusades, Jihads and Modernity," "Bush in Babylon: The Recolonisation of Iraq," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Axis of Hope," and "1968: Marching in the Streets" (co-authored with P.I. Taibo II), are available from Agra Publications.
