Kyriakos Margaritis

Kyriakos Margaritis was born in Cyprus in 1982. He studied classical and modern Greek philology at the University of Athens, where he completed his doctoral dissertation on the works of Alexandros Papadiamantis. He published his first book, the historical novel "Giorgis the Karpasitis," in 1998. Between 2001 and 2011, he released eight children's books, the last of which, titled "The Pierced Walls," was honored with a listing in the White Ravens catalog of the International Youth Library in Munich. His short story collection "Small Erotic Laments" received the State Prize for Young Writers in Cyprus in 2002 and represented Cyprus in literature at the 12th Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean (Naples, 2005). Between 2006 and 2013, he published five narrative fiction works, all introductions to broader novelistic cycles, the main bodies of which remained unpublished or incomplete. His articles and essays, in both print and electronic media, cover topics such as military history and the theory of the novel, and they attempt to delve into the ontology of the individual and the hesychastic epistemology of love.
