Virgil Gheorghiu

The renowned Romanian novelist Virgil Gheorghiu was born in 1916 in Războieni-Neamț, in the Moldavia region of Romania. He studied theology and philosophy at the Universities of Bucharest and Heidelberg. He served in the diplomatic corps. In 1963, he was ordained as a priest in Paris, where he passed away in 1992. He was a prolific author, with a keen interest in the history and Church of Romania. His most famous work, "The Twenty-Fifth Hour," achieved great publishing success.
