
Paul Strathern
Paul Strathern is a British author and academic. He was born in London in 1940. He studied physics, chemistry, and mathematics at Trinity College in Dublin and then served in the Merchant Navy for two years. Subsequently, he lived on a Greek island. In 1966, he traveled overland to India and the Himalayas. His novel "A Season in Abyssinia" was awarded the Somerset Maugham Award in 1972. He has written five novels, as well as numerous books on popular science, philosophy, history, literature, medicine, and economics.
