Dimitris P. Stamatopoulos
Dimitris Stamatopoulos was born in 1955 in Psari Iraias, Arcadia. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Higher Industrial School of Thessaloniki and a Ph.D. from Panteion University. He is married and the father of two children. He is an author specializing in tax law, with his first book published in 1989, and has a significant number of books, articles, and publications on tax-related topics. He served at the Ministry of Finance, where he held the position of General Director of Taxation and now holds the honorary title of General Director of Taxation. His previous roles include General Director of Public Property and National Bequests, Director of the Price Research and Control Service, and Director of the Customs and Special Taxes Division. He was also the Head of the VAT Regular Regime from 2000 to 2004. From 1986 to 1999, he worked in the Books and Records Division (KBS). Additionally, he served as Director at the First Public Revenue Office in Peristeri and worked as an auditor in various tax offices, including the FAVE Athens. He participated in numerous legislative committees and working groups of the Ministry of Finance on all matters related to taxation and tax law. Currently, he collaborates as an author with "Forin Stamatopoulos." In 2018, he ventured into the world of children's books, aiming to teach children the value of common goods, the necessity of collaboration, and the joy of creation.
