Ilias E. Kourkoutas
Ilias Kourkoutas was born in Larissa in 1961. He is a Clinical Psychologist and a Professor at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete, specializing in the Psychology of Children and Adolescents with Special Educational Needs (Emotional-Behavioral Difficulties, Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Chronic Illnesses, Learning Disabilities, Delinquent-Antisocial Behaviors, etc.). He completed his postgraduate studies in Belgium with a scholarship from OAED and his doctoral dissertation at the University of Liège with a scholarship from IKY. He worked at the same university as a researcher in the field of psychosocial development under M. Born and co-directed clinical psychoanalysis seminars with J. Melon for four years. Simultaneously, he specialized in child and adolescent psychotherapy at the Freudian Institute of Psychoanalysis in Brussels. His research focuses on the role of new mental health models and "inclusive practices" in schools. He has taught at various universities abroad, either as a guest professor or through European programs, and has authored numerous articles in Greek, French, English, and Italian.
