Diego Maradona (October 30, 1960 - November 25, 2020), a legendary footballer, is considered by many to be the greatest in the history of the sport. He grew up in Villa Devoto, a humble neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Talented and combative, mesmerizing and provocative, he shone in the Argentine National Team, first with the youth team—world champions in Japan in 1979—and then with the senior team, which he led to victory in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico and to second place in the 1990 World Cup in Italy. He also played in the World Cups in Spain in 1982 and the United States in 1994. In 2010, he coached the Argentine National Team in the World Cup in South Africa. He passed away on November 25, 2020, due to cardiac arrest.
