
Sotiria Stayrakopoulou
Sotiria Stavrakopoulou was born in Volos in 1957. She graduated from the School of Philosophy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1980 and works as an associate professor in the Department of Philology at the same institution. She has published various articles, studies, and book reviews concerning early vernacular and modern Greek literature. Her published studies include: "Periklis Sfyridis - Parafyades II: Literary Texts and Book Reviews 1999-2008" (Kastaniotis, 2008), "Periklis Sfyridis - The Prose Writer and Criticism of His Work" (Estia, 2011), "On the Occasion - Studies on the Literature of Thessaloniki" (Ianos, 2011), "The German Occupation in Thessaloniki's Prose Writers" (Malliaris Paideia, 2015), "Four Interviews with Periklis Sfyridis" (Malliaris Paideia, 2016), "Works and Bibliography of Konstantinos K. Papoulidis: 1960-2016" (Kyriakidis Publications IKE, 2016), "The No of Love: Virtu per sensi - Interpretative Views of Late Medieval and Renaissance Literature: 12th-17th Century" (Kyriakidis Publications IKE, 2017), "Art Without Makeup" (Malliaris Paideia, 2017). She made her literary debut in 1980 with the short story collection "Ta Zoubera" (Ermis) and followed with the literary books: "The Chordofasa and the Circle" (narrative: Ermis, 1982), "The Laparotomy" (short stories: Livanis, 1983), "Alma" (novel: Ermis, 1989), "The Receptions" (novel: Estia, 2001), "The Drunken Woman" (novel: Estia, 2005), "Rare Truths" (novel: Estia, 2008), "Ah, Greece, I Love You" (novel: Estia, 2012).
