Panagiotis G. Karkatsoulis

Panagiotis Karkatsoulis studied at the Law School of the University of Athens and completed his doctoral dissertation in the Sociology of Law at the University of Bielefeld in Germany. For more than two decades, he worked as a specialist in simplifying legislation and administrative procedures at the Ministry of the Presidency. He participated in the most significant administrative reforms of the last three decades in Greece and abroad. He taught at the National School of Public Administration from 1989 to 2015. In 2015, he served as a Member of Parliament with "To Potami" and subsequently as Secretary of its parliamentary group. He has participated as an expert for many international organizations and governments in numerous studies and research projects on Governance and public administration. In 2003, he was awarded the "Senator Peter Boorsma Award" by the American Society for Public Administration, and in 2012, he received the "International Public Administration Award" for his contributions to the field of administrative science. In 2010, he founded the Institute for Regulatory Policy Research (INERP) to promote research and dialogue on administrative science and practice. Panagiotis Karkatsoulis has published five monographs in Greek, English, and German, numerous studies in Greek and international scientific journals, and a plethora of articles and commentaries in daily, periodical, print, and electronic media. His studies have been translated into French, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Italian, Albanian, and Russian.
