Giorgos Georgousis

George E. Georgousis was born in 1940 in Athens, where he studied Medicine, specializing in Cardiology. He pursued postgraduate studies in Paris (1966-1969) and London (1970-1973). He held a Doctorate from the Athens Medical School and worked for many years as a cardiologist at the Cardiology Clinic of Sismanogleio Hospital. In literature, he mainly focused on poetry and, to a lesser extent, essays and translation. He made his literary debut in 1966 with his first poetry book "Nyctiluca." He served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Society of Authors. He passed away in March 2017 at the age of 77.
