Alexandra Rasidaki

Alexandra Rassidaki was born in Athens in 1970. She is a professor of German and Comparative Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the Department of German Language and Literature. She studied Medieval and Modern German Philology and Spanish Philology at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where she completed her doctoral dissertation on Gnosticism in 20th-century literature: "Die Provokation der Vorübergehenden. Gnosis als Denkfigur in der Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts" (1999). Her teaching and research focus on the fields of German and Comparative Literature, the history of ideas, and literary translation. She has translated literary texts to and from German, including works by Rainer Maria Rilke, Franz Kafka, Ilse Aichinger, and Nasos Vayenas.
