
Santiago Gamboa
Santiago Gamboa was born in 1965 in Bogotá. He studied Philology at the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá. He then moved to Europe, living in Madrid, where he earned a degree in Spanish Philology from the Complutense University, and in Paris, where he studied Cuban Philology at the Sorbonne University. He has written the novels "Paginas de vuelta, Perder es cuestión de método" (adapted into a film by director Sergio Cabrera and published in Greek under the title "Το να χάνεις είναι ζήτημα μεθόδου", Opera editions), "Tragedia del hombre que amaba en los aeropuertos," "Vida feliz de un joven llamado Esteban," "El cerco de Bogotá," "El síndrome de Ulises" (finalist for the Rómulo Gallegos Prize, the Médicis Prize for Best Foreign Novel in France, and the Casino de Póvoa Prize in Portugal), "Hotel Pekín," and "Necrópolis" (winner of the La Otra Orilla Prize). His books have been translated into seventeen languages.
