Lakis Michailidis was born in Thessaloniki. He studied law and economics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and dramatic arts at the Macedonian Conservatory. After his studies, he worked in advertising and wrote plays and film scripts. Since 1964, when he moved to Athens, he has written more than one hundred film scripts, thirty-five urban comedies, and numerous revues. His presence in the theater scene remains significant today. He has served for many years as President of the Society of Greek Playwrights and has been a board member of the Theatre Museum and the Center for Theatre Study and Research, the National Theatre, and the Organization for the Collective Management of Intellectual Property Creators. He has received two state theater awards and five "Papadoukas" awards for his revue sketches. His novel "Fourtounakides and Vrontakides," which became a major film success, marks his debut in the publishing world.
