Nikos Paschalidis

Nikos Paschalidis, a lawyer and literary author, was born in 1936 in Thessaloniki, where he currently resides. He studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki [1954-1959] and English at the Pitman Examinations Institute in London [1973]. He practiced law from 1963, serving as a lawyer at the Supreme Court from 1980 until 2000, when he retired and was awarded the title of Honorary Lawyer. He was involved in refugee law and citizenship issues, working as a legal associate for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Northern Greece [1971-1980]. He is a member of the Society of Writers of Thessaloniki, the Society for Macedonian Studies, the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, the Society of Lawyers of Northern Greece, the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, the Pancretan Brotherhood of Macedonia, and the Association of Greek Writers. He has been honored by: the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 1993 and 2003, the Thessaloniki Bar Association in 1993 and 1996, the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce in 1994, the Metropolitan Lions of Thessaloniki in 1995, the Publishers Association of Northern Greece in 1995 and 2000, the Association of Greek Writers in 1995, the Center for History of the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 1996 and 1997, the Municipality of Hersonissos, Heraklion, Crete, and the Cultural Association of Avdou Hersonissos in 2003.
