
Richard Carlson
Richard Carlson (May 16, 1961 - December 13, 2006) was a doctor of psychology, psychotherapist, author, and group trainer. He became known for the "Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff" series of handbooks, particularly the first book, "Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff... and it’s all Small Stuff" (1997). He also wrote and edited numerous works on happiness and harmony in relationships. He was especially popular for his television appearances and frequently gave lectures. As a private therapist, he helped many people combat their anxiety and live a calmer and more harmonious life. People magazine awarded him the title of "Most Interesting Person in the World." He was also honored for introducing the phrase "Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff" into American popular culture.
