Nikos Aliferis

The poet and translator Nikos Aliferis was born in Athens. He studied mathematics and philosophy in London and Paris, respectively. He has published the poetry collections "Abydos" (Agra, 1994), "From the Front" (Agra, 1998), "Portraits and Other Poems" (Agra, 2005), "The Frieze of the Sky" (Agra, 2013). He has also translated: "Letters from Greece" by Gustave Flaubert (Agra, 1984), "Philosophical Letters" by Voltaire (Alexandria, 1990), "Finisterre and Other Poems" by E. Montale (Agra, 1995), "Diary of '71" and "Diary of '72" by E. Montale (Agra, 2013 & 1999, respectively), as well as the collective volume "On Poetry" (Agra, 2005). He has taught literary translation at the Italian Institute of Athens and the Hellenic Center for Literary Translation (EKEMEL).
