
Manolis Sergis
Manolis G. Sergis was born in Naxos in 1957. He studied philology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens (1975-79) and pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Primary Education of the same university. For 23 years, he worked as a philologist in public high schools in West Attica. In September 2003, he was elected Assistant Professor of Folklore at the Democritus University of Thrace, in the Department of Language, Literature, and Culture of the Black Sea Countries. He has participated in many Greek and international conferences, presenting original papers on folklore. He is a member of numerous scientific societies and cultural associations.
