Faidon Tamvakakis

Phaedon Tambakakis was born in Alexandria in 1960. He studied economics and English literature. He has published the prose works: "Eumorfia" (1982), "The Landscapes of Philomela" (1988), "The Ultimate and Four Studies" (1991), the novel "The Castaways of Pasiphae" (1997), which was awarded the Novel Prize by the magazine "Diavazo" in 1997, as well as the short story collection "Empty Hotels" (2005). His novella "Renovation" was honored with the Novella Prize by the Academy of Athens - Petros Haris Foundation in 2015. He has translated works by John Fowles, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda Fitzgerald, B. Traven, Iceberg Slim, among others, and has edited the volume on Alexandria in the series "A City in Literature" by Metaichmio Publications.
