Georgios Sakellariadis

Georgios Chr. Sakellariadis was born in Aroania, Kalavryta, in 1938. He studied at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens and was a scholarship recipient of the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). With another scholarship from IKY, he went to the USA, where he studied and researched modern linguistics and, secondarily, classical philology. He earned his Master of Arts and Ph.D. degrees in Linguistics from Indiana University in the USA. He taught Modern Greek Language at Indiana University, the Teacher Training College for Secondary Education (SELME), and the Pedagogical Institute of Athens (PEK). He actively participated in numerous symposia and seminars of linguistic and educational interest in Europe and America. He served in Secondary Education as a philologist, principal, high school director, and school counselor. He is proficient in English, German, and French and has published over one hundred and fifty studies and articles on linguistic and philological topics. Additionally, he has authored more than forty (40) books.
