THeofanis Tasis

Theophanis Tasis was born in 1976 in Munich, where he was also raised. He teaches Contemporary Practical Philosophy at Alpen-Adria University in Austria. He is a visiting professor at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and a member of the Berlin Academy of Humanities. He has served as a Stanley J. Seeger Fellow at Princeton University, a Marie Curie Fellow at Université Saint-Louis in Brussels, and an Erasmus Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin. His research focuses on the relationship between politics, ethics, and digital technology, with an emphasis on the concepts of image, mortality, and the art of living. His works "Politics of Life: Irony" (Eurasia Publications, 2012) and "Castoriadis: A Philosophy of Autonomy" (Eurasia Publications, 2007) have been awarded the Kaftantzoglio Prize by the University of Athens. His other works in Greek include "Politics of Life II: The Care of the Self in the Iconic Society" (Armos Publications), "Pharmakon" (Eurasia Publications), and the poetry collections "Physiological Findings" (Kedros Publications) and "Afternoons in Capitalism" (Typothito Publications). His translation work includes books by Martin Heidegger, John Stuart Mill, Alexander Nehamas, and Roberto Mangabeira Unger.
