Carlo Collodi

His real name was Carlo Lorenzini, born in Florence on November 24, 1826, and he passed away in the same city on October 26, 1890, at the age of 64. He lived during the period of Italian unification, advocated for the annexation of Tuscany to Piedmont, and adopted the pseudonym Collodi from a village in Brescia, where his mother was born. As an archivist and journalist, he launched two newspapers, wrote comedies and novels, and dedicated himself to children's literature by presenting old fairy tales. He authored educational books that achieved great success, but his fame is solely attributed to "Pinocchio," which was published in installments in a newspaper. Translated into all languages, it is the fairy tale of all peoples and all countries and is considered worldwide as a masterpiece of children's literature.
