
Ann Patchett
Ann Patchett was born in Los Angeles in 1963. She has authored the novels: "The Patron Saint of Liars" (1992), which was named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year; "Taft" (1994), winner of the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize; "The Magician's Assistant" (1997); "Bel Canto" (2001, Greek edition by Oceanida, winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize); "Run" (2007); "State of Wonder" (2011); as well as the essays: "Truth and Beauty: A Friendship" (2004); "What Now?" (2008); "The Getaway Car: A Practical Memoir About Writing and Life" (2011). She has contributed to numerous publications, including the New York Times Magazine, Village Voice, CQ, Paris Review, and Vogue. She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Nashville Banner Tennessee Writer of the Year Award in 1994. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
