Eyagelia Andritsanou

Evangelia Andritsanou was born in Athens. She studied Greek philology, linguistics, and theater. In 1999, she founded the Theater Group Armadillos. She collaborated as an assistant director and actress with American director Lee Breuer (Choephori - Workshop I and Workshop II, 2000-2005). For the theater, she has written the plays "The Pure Eliot" (Topos Allou Theater 2001) and "Beautiful Apples!" (Entropia Theater 2005). She has translated Euripides' "The Suppliants" (with Michail Marmarinos, Epidaurus 2006), "Iphigenia in Aulis," Marivaux's "The Sincere Theatricals," "Red Horse" (with Giannis Zervas), and Lee Breuer's "Red Beads," Larry Tremblay's "The Axe," Billy Aronson's "Little Red Riding Hood," and adapted Rigas Feraios' "The Olympians." She has translated poetry by Seamus Heaney, Adrienne Rich, Pierre Reverdy, among others, and the complete works of Irvin Yalom for Agra Publications (with G. Zervas and D. Kakatsaki).
