Albrecht Wellmer

Albrecht Wellmer was born in 1933 in Bergkirchen, Germany. He studied mathematics and physics in Kiel and earned his doctorate in philosophy in Frankfurt, where he also completed his habilitation. He was a long-time professor at the University of Konstanz. Since 1990, he served as a Professor in the Department of Hermeneutics at the Free University of Berlin. His works include: "Methodologie und Erkenntnistheorie" (1967), "Kritische Gesellschaftstheorie und Positivismus" (1969), "Praktische Philosophie und Theorie der Gesellschaft" (1979), "Zur Dialektik von Moderne und Postmoderne" (1985), "Ethnik und Dialog" (1986), "Endspiele: Die unversoehnliche Moderne" (1993). He passed away on September 13, 2018.
