Zoi Spyropoulou

Zoe Spyropoulou, a native of Thessaloniki, has been a discreet yet integral part of the city's social and cultural life for the past fifty years. As the daughter of Drakos Mavromatis and Aikaterini Papaioannou-Mavrommati from Eastern Rumelia, she carries deep within her soul the profound historical memories of displacement and refuge. From a young age, she joined the Girl Guides and quickly embraced the values of teamwork, solidarity, and service. Her school years at the American College and later at the "Aglaia Schina" educational institutions were particularly significant, as she was fortunate to have distinguished teachers, most notably Manolis Andronikos. She married lawyer Dimitrios Spyropoulos and they have two children. Zoe Spyropoulou works for the Lyceum Club of Greek Women, where she has served as president since 1975, and for the YWCA Panorama. She is also a member of numerous charitable and cultural associations in Thessaloniki.
