Georgios-Stylianos Prevelakis

Georgios-Stylianos Prevelakis is a professor at the Sorbonne's School of Geography (Paris I) and at the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in Paris. He specializes in the fields of Geopolitics, Urban Planning, and Cultural Geography. He is particularly renowned for his contributions to the Geopolitics of the Balkans. Born in Athens in 1949, he studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens during the dictatorship and later pursued Urban Planning at the Sorbonne's School of Geography. He collaborated with Stefanos Manos at the Ministry of Spatial Planning from 1978 to 1980, where he was responsible for coordinating studies on Athens. He has taught in Greece, America, and France, where he has been residing since 1984. He supervises doctoral dissertations for students from disciplines such as Geography, History, Political Science, Architecture, and more, on related topics (Greece and the Balkans, Geography and Politics of European Enlargement, Geopolitics of Diasporas, Theory of Geography, etc.).
