
John Preston
John Preston is a professor at Eastern Michigan University's College of Technology, where he teaches microcomputer applications at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has been teaching, writing, and designing computer education courses since the early days of the PC and has co-authored over twenty books on Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. He was the editor of the books Learn 97 and Learn 2000. He has received grants from the Detroit Edison Institute and the Department of Energy to develop educational websites on energy topics and alternative fuels. Additionally, he developed one of the first Internet-based microcomputer applications courses at an accredited university. He holds a B.S. in Physics, Mathematics, and Education from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Physics Education from Eastern Michigan University. He is ABD in the Educational Technology doctoral program at Wayne State University.
