Konstantinos Skampavias

Konstantinos Skampavias was born in Piraeus in 1943. After completing his secondary education, he earned a degree from the Law Department of the Law School and later a degree from the Department of History and Archaeology of the School of Philosophy. He pursued postgraduate studies in Paris under professors Eleni Glykatzi-Ahrweiler and Jean-Pierre Sodini. In 1979, he passed the examinations and joined the Archaeological Service. He served in the 10th and 2nd Ephorates of Byzantine Antiquities and has been the head of the 3rd Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities since 1991.
