
Konstantinos Kyriakos
Konstantinos Kyriakos was born in Chios. He is a Professor of Theatre History and Greek Cinema (Department of Theatre Studies, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Patras). In his more than one hundred studies and articles on theatre and cinema, he has explored, among other topics, the historiography of the Greek stage with an emphasis on reception issues (19th-century theatre, Russian theatre, and Anton Chekhov), the theory of acting ("star studies"), interdisciplinary approaches to theatre with literature and cinema, ancient-themed films in Greek cinema, and issues of gender and identity in theatre (stage and dramaturgy) and cinema (queer studies and theories of masculinity). He has taught at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Patras. He has worked as a dramaturge, editor, translator, and publication manager for studies at the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Municipal Regional Theatre of Volos, and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. He contributes articles to daily and periodical press.
